Argentina seeks to promote a free trade agreement in Chile

Michelle Bachelet, and to advance in the negotiations of a free trade agreement.

"President Mauricio Macri will make an official visit to Chile today, during which he will meet with President Michelle Bachelet," the presidency said in a statement.

After landing in Santiago de Chile, the president will visit the old building of the National Congress, where he will meet with presidents Andrés Zaldívar Larraín, of the Senate, and Fidel Espinoza Sandoval, of the Chamber of Deputies.

Macri will be received later by the Chilean president at the headquarters of the Chilean government.

The two heads of state will hold a private meeting before extending the meeting to their respective delegations.

The Argentine president will be accompanied by the ministers Jorge Faurie, Foreign Affairs; Nicolas Dujovne, Treasury; Guillermo Dietrich, of Transport and Juan José Aranguren, of Energy and Mining.

Macri and Bachelet are expected to give a joint statement, without questions from the press, before the lunch with which the Argentine president will be entertained.

In the Sociedad de Fomento Fabril (SoFoFa), where he will attend later, the Argentine head of state will meet with the Confederation of Production and Commerce and he will offer a speech to businessmen and investors on "Argentina's international insertion strategies and Integration with Chile ".

The president will return to Buenos Aires this Tuesday, June 27.
