Colombia becomes the 37 member of the OECD the third Latin American

Colombia today formalized its entry into the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) as the 37th member and the third Latin American after Mexico and Chile following a process launched by its president Juan Manuel Santos which has been translated in five years of negotiation.

Santos signed the accession agreement in a solemn act during the opening session of the annual ministerial meeting of the OECD at its headquarters in Paris with the secretary general the Mexican Ángel Gurría and with the president of France Emmanuel Macron as an exceptional witness .
