Discover hundreds of NATO mines in the Syrian city of Duma

Russian experts found about 1.200 landmines a total of 1.5 tons of explosive substances and about 4.000 improvised explosive devices in the Syrian city of Duma.

The weapons found were possibly produced in the NATO member countries.

"Now looking demine the city. So far the Syrian sappers found deactivated more than 1.200 landmines 1.5 tons of explosives and 4,000 improvised explosive devices. Possibly mine clearance will take months " according to cite the media Russian military.

The spokesman for the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Conflict Parties in Syria also indicated that the mines found were marked as being manufactured by NATO.

Syrian sappers find between 200 and 250 improvised explosive devices every day. The Syrian military says that the local population helps them clear the area.

Previously the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that more than 21.000 combatants members of their families left the city that came under the control of the Syrian Government.
