Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh denied Wednesday that Russia sells Iranian crude oil on the international market in the face of US sanctions on Iran's energy exports.
"I deny the news that has recently spread in the Western media about the issue," Zanganeh told reporters in Tehran after a cabinet meeting.
The official refrained from answering the question about the impact of US sanctions on the export of Iranian oil.
"I do not talk about oil sales or US sanctions," he made clear.
Officials of the Iranian government reiterated that the United States will not be able to stop the sale of Iranian crude.
The US Department of State has set November 4 as a deadline for those who buy oil from Iran to stop doing so. Those who do not will face sanctions from the United States.
