Iran warns that sanctions deepen US isolation

The US sanctions against Iran they have a boomerang effect and deepen the isolation of the North American country in the world, says an Iranian diplomat.

"The United States sanctions against Iran are nothing new. The US government is addicted to sanctions and (the current US president, Donald) Trump can not leave them. I believe that this US measure is a way of self-sanctioning, "says Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi.

On Monday, US sanctions come into force. against Iran, eliminated after the nuclear agreement signed in 2015 by Tehran and the 5 + 1 Group (USA, Russia, France, the United Kingdom and China, plus Germany), and from which Washington unilaterally left in May.

By withdrawing from numerous international agreements and treaties, Qasemi argues, the United States has shown that "it can not adapt to international mechanisms and that it has become isolated ."

The spokesman of the Persian Diplomacy points out that the unilateral embargoes against Iran "do not come from the power, nor from the logic of the US Administration, but from the inability of Washington to work with the international community."

According to Qasemi, the US restrictions against Iran are nothing but " a psychological war " and an attempt to create "iranophobia".

The Persian diplomat says that whatever the United States unilateral sanctions may be. against Iran will not come to fruition and will face global opposition.

The new US embargoes point to energy exchanges, transport and finance, also to the Iranian Central Bank. The US plan to reduce Iranian oil exports "to zero" has failed since the beginning, as the White House has had to temporarily exempt from sanctions 8 Iranian oil customers.

On Monday, Iranian President Hasan Rohani has declaredthat "Iran will continue to sell its oil and will nullify the sanctions."
