López Obrador exceeds 24 million votes in Mexico

"I am going to submit a revocation of the mandate every three years so that the citizens can decide if they want the president to continue" AMLO announced.

The virtual president-elect of Mexico Andrés Manuel López Obrador , exceeded 24 million votes (52.96 percent) with an advance of 93.56 percent in the scrutiny of the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) of the National Electoral Institute (INE)

The Sunday elections which had a 63.44 percent turnout, left a difference of 30 points between Lopez Obrador and his closest contenderRicardo Anaya who obtained 10.2 million votes (22.49 percent).

AMLO known by its acronym, the politician 64 years managed the biggest advantage in the history of Mexico . And on Monday he announced that he will hold a recall referendum midway through his six-year term confident that "there will be results."

"It is a commitment that I am going to fulfill: I am going to submit to a revocation of the mandate every three years so that the citizens decide if they want the president to continue" he said in an interview with TV Azteca .

López Obrador, of the National Regeneration Movement ( Morena ) can accumulate a simple or absolute majority in the Chamber of Deputies and in that of Senators. For the moment the INE has not confirmed it.

"Although we have a majority in Congress, we are not going to take any action contrary to the general interest," said AMLO who rejected the accusations against him repeated in the world's major media.

"I am not a dictator, I am a democrat. We are going to build an authentic democracy not a dictatorship "he added.

The INE will declare AMLO winner on July 8, so that the Electoral Tribunal can validate the results of the elections. His inauguration will take place on December 1st.
