Mattis insists on reducing tensions with Pyongyang on the inter-Korean border

US Secretary of Defense James Mattis said today that Washington "does not want the war" with Pyongyang, during a visit to the inter-Korean border that took place days before President Donald Trump's trip to Seoul.

The head of the Pentagon tried to reduce tensions with the regime led by Kim Jong-un in the symbolic scenario of Panmunjom, the village where in 1953 was signed the armistice that ended the Korean War and currently located the heart of the area demilitarized (DMZ) that separates North and South.
