National Assembly elects Otto Sonnenholzner as vice president of Ecuador

With 94 votes in favor, the assemblymen elected the new vice president of the country, replacing María Alejandra Vicuña.

The National Assembly of Ecuador named Otto Sonnenholzner as the new vice president of the Republic on Tuesday , with 94 votes in favor, 7 against and 7 abstentions of the 128 assembly members.

This election of the position takes place a week after the Parliament accepted the resignation of María Alejandra Vicuña, who was involved in an investigation for collecting undue funds.
