As part of its Annual Financing Program authorized for 2018 taking advantage of the window of opportunity that is presented in the financial markets Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) carried out today (03/05/18 /) the placement of a bond in the market international for an amount of 365 million Swiss francs with a maturity of 5.5 years the oil company reported on its website.
Pemex details that the placement will mature in December 2023. While its rate of return to the investor was set at 1.75%. BNP Paribas a European banks the Swiss bank UBS were the placement agents of the operation.
The resources coming from this issue will be used for strategic investment projects . Among them refinancing operations that together with the placements made during the year are aimed at strengthening the company. The idea is to fulfill the objectives of your Business Plan.
The transaction marks the return of Pemex to the Swiss capital market since its last placement in 2016. The issue contemplated bonds with maturities in 2018 and 2021 for a total amount of 375 million Swiss francs. This market means a strategic opportunity to keep the investor base of the company diversified and to access alternative sources of financing to the traditional ones.
The Mexican oil company highlights that the operation reflects the confidence of investors in Pemex as a productive state company. Moreover, because it is in a process of opening up to private capital as part of the Energy Reform.
