The president of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba (ANPP), Esteban Lazo, received Maya Fernández Allende, president of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, with whom he evaluated the development of relations between both legislatures , reported the website of the Cuban parliament.
"This is the fourth delegation of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile that we have received under the agreements signed between us, this is, then, your home and the Cuban people part of your family," said Lazo, welcoming the the headquarters of the ANPP to the delegation of Chilean parliamentarians.
During the meeting, according to the ANPP statement, the Chilean deputies highlighted the usefulness of the activities of the program organized by the Cuban hosts, which included meetings with the Committee on Constitutional and Legal Matters.
The visitors were able to know details of the scope of the changes included in the draft of the new Cuban Constitution that is currently in the process of popular discussion, as well as receiving information on work in the fields of health and sports.
As part of the agenda on the island, the delegation of Chilean deputies visited the National Institute of Oncology and Radiobiology, the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, and plan to visit the Special Development Zone of Mariel, northwest of this capital.
Along with Fernández Allende, Chilean deputies Fidel Espinosa, Manuel Mansalve, Gabriel Ascencio, Hugo Gutierrez and Andres Longton traveled to Cuba.
