Russia and China advocate the use of national currency for transactions in the conditions of risks in the global economy, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"The Russian and Chinese side confirmed the interest in using more actively the national currencies in the payments, which will increase the stability of the banking service of export and import operations in the conditions of existing risks in global markets," he said.

The document was signed in the presence of the presidents of China and Russia, Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, in the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2018).

The fourth edition of this forum is held from 11 to 13 September in the city ofVladivostok(Russian Far East), on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) located on Russki Island.
