The president of the United States has confirmed that he will not meet with the North Korean leader on June 12.
"Unfortunately I was forced to cancel my meeting with Kim Jong-un in Singapore" wrote US President Donald Trump on his Twitter.
The meeting with the North Korean leader was scheduled for next June 12.
A few hours before, the White House had published a letter from Trump in which he reported on the cancellation of the meeting.
"Unfortunately based on the tremendous anger and open hostility shown in your most recent statement I think it is inappropriate at this time to have this long-planned meeting," Trump wrote.
