Mexico seizes 50 million dollars more from the Jalisco Cartel

With the blocking of seven thousand bank accounts for 50 million dollars between May 2019 and April 2020, the government of Mexico announced today another blow to the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG),

With that operation, the seizures of that cartel already add up to more than 570 million dollars in operations that the authorities classify as relevant.

It is the strongest and most widespread mafia group in the country after that of Sinaloa, led by El Chapo Guzmán, was neutralized. Its leader is Nemesio Oseguera (El Mencho) who has not been apprehended.

In national currency they are one billion pesos. The authorities have detected a total of 2,281 financial operations related to the CJNG. Jalisco (742), Mexico City (312), Michoacán (144) and the State of Mexico (112) are the entities that concentrate more than half of these transactions, reported the Ministry of Citizen Security,

With the information gathered by the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit since May last year, various asset blockades have been executed that until May 31, 2020 yielded an amount of 1,3 million 208 thousand 738.7 pesos, notes the Secretariat.

He added that the total number of accounts blocked by the FIU is 7,181 out of 1,478 and has reviewed a total of 5,125 reports of unusual operations related to the CJNG.

They also followed up on transfers made by prestanombres and companies linked to the El Mencho organization, and two thousand 102 operations were identified for a total of two million 955 thousand 208.70 dollars.
